Former CM Naveen Patnaik ,Chief minister Mohan Charan MajhiBhubaneswar: Chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi and leader of opposition and former CMNaveen Patnaikare set to hit the campaign trail in Nuapada next week, as the three major political parties -BJP, BJD, and Congress - intensify efforts ahead of the Nov 11 bypoll.BJP has scheduled roadshows featuring the chief minister across Nuapada, Khariar Road, and Komna on Nov 6 and 7.Meanwhile, BJD is preparing for a public meeting to be addressed by Naveen Patnaik in Komna on Monday, followed by his roadshow across various parts of the assembly segment on Nov 7.Panchayati raj minister Rabi Narayan Naik, who campaigned for BJP candidate Jay Dholakia by leading a march in Kurumpuri panchayat under Komna block on Thursday, claimed that public support for the BJP is overwhelming.Min: BJP isheaded for a landmark winNaik said people recognise the state govt under CM Mohan Charan Majhi as one that delivers on its promises, unlike the previous administration, which he said left Nuapada lagging behind other districts in development. "BJP is headed for a landmark win," Naik said.Deputy leader of opposition and senior BJD MLA Prasanna Acharya countered that Nuapada is witnessing growing disenchantment with the incumbent govt.He emphasised that Naveen Babu remains highly popular among the people, who, he said, miss the developmental initiatives launched during his tenure. "They will teach the BJP a lesson and vote for BJD's Snehangini Chhuria," Acharya said.Echoing similar sentiments, BJD MLA Arun Sahoo described the BJP's 500-day tenure as a complete failure, which he believes will be reflected in the bypoll outcome.Congress leader Lalatendu Mohapatra declared that Congress candidate Ghasiram Majhi is poised to win the Nuapada bypoll. BJP convened a high-level meeting of its key workers in Nuapada on Thursday. State BJP president Manmohan Samal, deputy CM K V Singhdeo, party's regional in-charge Sunil Bansal, state in-charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar, attended.
