Congress Rajya Sabha Candidate Meenakshi Natarajan's Nomination Cancelled Over Alleged Affidavit Errors

On Monday, the nomination of Congress Rajya Sabha candidate from Madhya Pradesh, Meenakshi Natarajan, was cancelled. Election officials found that the affidavit submitted along with her nomination papers allegedly concealed information related to a case. The development came after BJP leaders filed a formal objection with the returning officer, seeking cancellation of Natarajan's candidature. The BJP alleged that the leader had not given information about a court case going on in Telangana in her election affidavit, which is a necessary document that candidates have to submit while filing nominations. The party argued that not giving information amounts to concealing important information and her nomination should be cancelled on its basis. Meenakshi Natarajan has made serious allegations against the BJP and the Election Commission after the nomination was cancelled. She said that when the BJP saw that the entire Congress legislature party was united and all the MLAs were attending party meetings continuously, it understood that the politics of poaching would not succeed as the BJP had already shown its third rung of political reach.
