India's Oman-Gujarat Deep-Sea Gas Pipeline Project: A New Era in Energy Security

The renewed war in the Middle East and tensions over the Strait of Hormuz are affecting global energy supplies. Meanwhile, India, along with Oman, has found a way that the Strait of Hormuz will not be needed. A long pipeline project has been announced from Gujarat to Oman so that the energy supply in India is not interrupted. This gas pipeline will be laid in the depths of the sea for about 2000 kilometers across the Arabian Sea. India has taken steps to ensure its energy supply amid the ever-changing geopolitics of the world. The Oman-Gujarat deep-sea gas pipeline project has been discussed many times in the last 30 years, but due to high costs, technical problems and questions about the benefits of this project, it has never gone beyond planning. South Asia Gas Enterprise (SAGE) has been promoting this project for years. They say that they have already made a financial assessment and technical assessment for this project. It will also come close to Rs 40,000 crores directly from the seabed of India.
