RJD's Rit Lal Roy Leads in Danapur Assembly Constituency in Bihar

NEW DELHI: After four rounds of counting in Bihar’s Danapur Assembly constituency, RJD’s Rit Lal Roy is leading with 20,983 votes (+12,983), while BJP’s Ram Kripal Yadav trails at 8,000 votes (-12,983).Danapur is witnessing a direct contest between BJP and RJD as the counting of votes in the constituency has started.With polling complete and the fate of candidates sealed in the EVMs, Danapur remains one of the closely watched seats in Patna district. In the 2020 election, the constituency had 3,53,534 electors and 1,85,563 valid votes. Rit Lal Ray of the RJD won with 89,895 votes. BJP’s Asha Devi finished second with 73,971 votes, losing by 15,924.In 2015, Danapur had 3,21,439 electors and 1,66,986 valid votes. Asha Devi of the BJP won with 72,192 votes. Raj Kishor Yadav of the RJD secured 66,983 votes and lost by 5,209.In 2010, the constituency had 2,55,418 electors and 1,25,050 valid votes. Asha Devi won again on a BJP ticket with 59,425 votes.
