In the midst of the election campaign, 11 panchayat members of the opposition party were inducted into the TMC by state minister Pulak Roy. On Thursday, 11 panchayat members from different gram panchayats of Uluberia Dakshin assembly constituency, belonging to BJP, CPM, Congress, ISF, joined the ruling party. Pulak handed over party flags to them. According to TMC sources, one of the panchayat members who joined is from BJP, two from CPM, and two from Congress, four from ISF, and two independent members. Kalinagar gram panchayat member Kartik Mal joined from BJP. CPM members are Begum Borkha Bahari from Behera gram panchayat, and Sheikh Nur Alam Mallik from Dhulasimla gram panchayat. Congress members are Sheikh Kalam Ali from Chandipur gram panchayat, and Fazila Begum Molla from Hatgachha II gram panchayat. Pulak said, "Many more people will join the TMC in the coming days. This joining proves that TMC has really worked for the people of Uluberia." However, 11 opposition members have been added to the TMC.
