Punjab Government Orders 'VIP Teachers' Back to Original Postings

‘VIP school teachers’, who are influential enough to get choice postings in areas closer to Chandigarh on a deputation basis, will have to go back to their original place of postings in the New Year as per the Punjab Government recent orders on rationalising of postings. Punjab Chief MinisterBhagwant Mannhas given clearance to the Education Department’s proposal to ban deputations from now and cancel the existing deputation orders. The decision was aimed at tackling the crisis of teachers in the border districts, such as Tarn Tarn, due to inequitable postings by VIP teachers. Sources in the government said that 640 senior secondary teachers alone, mostly women, will be affected by the orders.
