Delhi Government Takes Tough Measures to Combat Air Pollution

The Delhi Government has taken strong measures to tackle the issue of air pollution in the national capital. Addressing a press conference, Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that vehicles without a proper Pollution Under Control (PUC) Certificate will not be provided fuel at petrol pumps from tomorrow.The minister further announced that there will be a complete ban on trucks bringing construction material into Delhi. Moreover, private vehicles from outside Delhi with less than BS6 category will not be allowed to enter the national capital from tomorrow.The Environment Minister further said that no government can completely eliminate pollution in 9-10 months. He blamed the previous government of the Aam Aadmi Party for not taking any concrete action during its tenure. He further said that the present government has improved the deteriorated conditions and is continuously working every day to reduce the AQI.
