Haryana Contractual Teachers Association Seeks Job Security Up to Age 60

Haryana Universities Contractual Teachers Association Monday met Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini regardingjob securityup to the age of 60 for nearly 1,400 contractual assistant professors across Haryana’s 14 state universities. A delegation from the association pressed for a Bill to be introduced in the upcoming Winter Session of the Assembly beginning December 18. The members also met Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda on Sunday. In recent weeks, they have approached senior government officials and the Higher Education Department to expedite the process. However, indications suggest that a Bill may not be tabled in this session, as the government has sought additional information from six universities regarding their contractual faculty. A senior officer in the Higher Education Department told TheIndian Expressthat they are awaiting detailed reports from these institutions.
