KOLKATA: A 35-year-old man entered a house and randomly stabbed his 28-year-old "girlfriend" multiple times before he reportedly jumped from the fourth-floor balcony on Tuesday around 8.15 am in the Posta area of central Kolkata.The man, Vicky Sharma, a resident of Jagmohan Mullick Lane, was taken to a nearby hospital in a serious condition, where the attending doctors declared him dead. Meanwhile, the woman, Shikha Singh, is stated to be critical and has been admitted to hospital.According to police, Shikha's husband passed away two years ago. She lived with her two children on rent in the Shibthakur Lane area of Posta. Shikha was alone at that time, and Vicky allegedly attacked her with a knife. He then jumped from the fourth floor. Both were quickly taken to hospital, but Vicky had died by then.Police have started an investigation to determine why the man acted this way. The knife used in the crime has been recovered from the scene, and neighbours are being questioned along with family members."We have come to know that Shikha had been pressurising Vicky to marry her.
