The 16-year-old Class-10 student from Rajgurunagar, Pune, who fatally attacked a fellow student at a private coaching class on Monday morning, was sent to an observation home on the orders of the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB). Meanwhile the Pune Rural police, which is seeking that the student be tried as an adult, have established the preliminary sequence of events, including how he procured the knife. The incident took place at a private coaching class for Class 10 students on Court Road in Rajgurunagar town in Khed taluka, around 45 kilometres fromPunecity. Probe revealed thatthe two students had a fighton November 13 towards the end of their coaching class session. The attack on Monday is believed to be a fallout of that fight. The 16-year-old juvenile in conflict with law attacked the victim on the neck and in the abdomen, following which the victim was rushed to a rural hospital in Chandoli, where the doctor pronounced him dead. After the police was informed about the incident, a probe was launched and teams were deployed at the location. The juvenile in conflict with law was summoned to appear at a police station and was subsequently detained. He was charged with murder and was produced before the JJB on Tuesday.
