AAP Suffers Major Blow as Seven MPs Defect to BJP

This week has been nothing short of a nightmare for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Within seven days, the party lost seven of its 10 MPs in the Rajya Sabha. It is being described as a well-thought-out political operation. It has completely changed the mathematics of politics in Parliament. On Wednesday, April 22, when Arvind Kejriwal suspected such a move, he immediately started calling his MPs. Some picked up the phones, some answered and some did not pick up the phones. Kejriwal kept calling Sandeep Pathak till Friday morning and he was assured that Pathak was with him. But by Friday afternoon, Pathak directly reached the BJP headquarters and joined the ruling party. Earlier, the AAP MPs were to merge on Monday, April 27. The Home Minister was to return from the West Bengal election campaign and meet all the MPs. But then the BJP came to know that Kejriwal had found out about this conspiracy and tried to convince the MPs. On Friday, the entire date of Operation Commander Raghav Shah's absence has been changed.
