Abu Dhabi Indian School, one of the oldest Indian educational institutions in the UAE, launched its golden jubilee celebrations with an inaugural ceremony at its campus, marking 50 years since its establishment. The year-long golden jubilee celebrations were inaugurated by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, UAE in the presence of Yusuffali M.A., Chairman of Abu Dhabi Indian School, along with members of the school management, dignitaries, parents, alumni and students. Congratulating the school on the milestone, Sheikh Nahyan said, “This milestone reflects the central role of education in shaping both the present and the future of the United Arab Emirates. Our nation has always placed education and human development at the heart of sustained progress and prosperity.” He added that under the leadership of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE continues to give strong emphasis to the development of its education system and youth. Sheikh Nahyan also praised the board of trustees for its vision and commitment in guiding the institution over the past five decades. Highlighting the close ties between India and the UAE, Yusuffali M.A. said the school stands as a symbol of the enduring friendship between the two countries and recalled the contribution of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE, in donating the land for the school. The school has produced an alumni base of over 200,000 students spread across various countries and professions. The school is regarded as one of the leading CBSE institutions in the UAE, with a strong academic record and active engagement in sports, cultural activities and community initiatives. The event was attended by several dignitaries including Dr Balaji Ramaswamy, counsellor at the Indian Embassy; Prof Shantanu Roy, executive director of IIT Delhi–Abu Dhabi; Dr Ram Shankar, Director, CBSE Dubai; and prominent members of the Indian business and cultural community.
