Altercation Over Road Blockade During Ganpati Immersion Leaves 2-3 Injured in Raver, Maharashtra

: An altercation broke out between two groups on Sunday evening over a road blockade during domestic Ganpati immersion in Raver, Jalgaon, Maharashtra. Earlier, both sides had an altercation and the dispute took the form of stone-pelting. Initial information has come to light that 2 to 3 people were injured in this incident. There is tension in the area after the incident but peace prevails. A strong police bandobast has been deployed to deal with any untoward situation. Police have appealed to the people not to believe in any rumours and do not spread rumours. Raver police have registered a case under the Riot, Stone-pelting and Atrocity Act. Police have started investigation into the incident. As soon as the news of the incident was received, Jalgaon District Superintendent of Police Shrikant Dhiware and Additional Superintendent of Police Sandeep Gavit reached Raver and took stock of the situation. The situation is currently under control of the police and the entire matter is being investigated.
