Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday shared a message after meeting Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar in New Delhi, saying the void created by the death of Ajit Pawar in the state’s politics would not be easy to fill. In a post on X, Shah wrote, “A meeting took place with @SunetraA_Pawar ji, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The void that has arisen in Maharashtra’s politics due to the passing of our beloved late Ajit Pawar ji is not easy to fill, but realising his vision for public welfare and the development of the state is the shared duty of all of us, in which your resolve will prove to be extremely useful." He also shared an image from the meeting. Sunetra Pawar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a day after assuming charge as Deputy Chief Minister in Mumbai. Sunetra Pawar, who took oath as Maharashtra’s first woman Deputy Chief Minister on January 31, was accompanied by her sons Parth and Jay, NCP working president Praful Patel and Lok Sabha MP Sunil Tatkare during her meeting with the Prime Minister. She also visited Parliament, which is currently in session for the Budget Session. She replaced her husband and former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in the Maharashtra cabinet, following his death in a plane crash at Baramati airport in Pune district on January 28.
