Anil Ambani's Ties to Jeffrey Epstein Cause International Furore

New York: The relationship between Indian business tycoon Anil Ambani and notorious US sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has caused an international furore. Hundreds of messages released by the US Department of Justice and analysed by the New York Times reveal that during Donald Trump's first term, Anil Ambani sought Jeffrey Epstein's help to gain influence in the US administration and gain strategic information. Epstein promised to mentor Anil Ambani by posing as a White House "insider." Discussions on defence deals and the appointment of an ambassador: In 2017, when Anil Ambani's company was in the news over the Rafale fighter jet deal, he asked Epstein for "guidance" on India-US defence cooperation and White House policies. Anil Ambani expressed his desire to have former CIA director David Petraeus as US ambassador to India, to which Epstein secretly informed him that Petraeus was not going to be a true national security advisor to the government.
