Bankura Residents Protest Against Filling of Water Bodies and Illegal Construction

The residents of Bankura have been protesting against the filling up of water bodies and illegal construction of multi-storeyed buildings in public places. The local MLAs of the ruling party and now the TMC candidate have been complaining about the same, but to no avail. When the ruling party candidate came to the area for the election campaign, the local residents questioned him. The candidate did not respond to the incident and said that he did not know the responsibility. Therefore, on Tuesday, the CPI (M) candidate Dulu Das, the head of various local panchayats in the area, expressed his anger. The local MLA and the Left candidate gave a message to support them. The people living in the Bankura 1, Bankura 2 and Bankura 3 panchayat areas of the Domjur assembly constituency are mainly from the minority community. In the last panchayat elections, the TMC-backed miscreants did not allow any of the opposition candidates to submit nomination papers in three gram panchayats. The opposition zero-panchayat continued to run three gram panchayats of their own. The head of Bankura 3 panchayat office was shot at by other members of the ruling party.
