A Bareilly-based woman has accused her colleague, advocate Prem Singh, of physical abuse, forced abortion and death threats on the pretext of marriage. On the basis of the complaint, the Mallital Kotwali police have registered a zero FIR and transferred the case to the concerned police station area. According to the victim, she was already known to an advocate. It is alleged that in 2024, when her health deteriorated in the court complex, the accused took her to his under-construction building on the pretext of taking her to a hospital, where he forced her to have sex with him while assuring her of marriage. The woman says that when she informed the accused's family about the incident, they also told her to accept her as a daughter-in-law and assured her to get married soon. The woman alleges that when she reached the accused's house in April 2026, her mother asked her to marry her son for Rs 25 lakh saying that she would have other relationships. On resisting, the accused and her family threatened her that she would also file a complaint against her in Bareilly if she approached the court.
