The Bengal police have frozen three bank accounts of the All India Trinamool Congress party. Money cannot be withdrawn from these three accounts of the Trinamool Congress in HDFC Bank. All these bank accounts have Rs 440 crore. The fight within the Trinamool Congress (TMC) after the election defeat in West Bengal has now come down to the party's money and assets. Former party treasurer Arup Biswas had earlier written to HDFC Bank asking for a freeze on the party's accounts. He said that there is no clear answer yet on who is the real leadership of the party. Arup Biswas was removed from this post this month. This letter of Arup Biswas was handed over to the bank at a time when 20 Lok Sabha MPs of the TMC met Speaker Om Birla and announced their merger with the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI). These rebel MPs say that they are the real TMC and will submit their claim on the party's name and ID 4 crore to the Election Commission, according to the report.
