A case of hawala trading in the name of a fake political party and Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) has come to light in the border districts of Bihar adjoining Nepal. The Chief Secretary and the DGP have directed special vigilance in the border districts following the information revealed during the investigation of economic activities. The investigation has revealed that some hawala traders are registering fake political parties and making them a medium to receive illegal money in the name of donations. After this, there is a possibility of this money being sent to other places through hawala. Similarly, information has also been revealed about taking advantage of agricultural income tax provisions by registering fake agricultural produce marketing committees. In view of the seriousness of the case, the monitoring of economic activities has been asked to be increased. Several important information came to the fore in the review meeting of the Home Department, the DGP and the Principal Income Tax Commissioner of Bihar-Jharkhand. The special branch of the Home Department has sent guidelines to the SPs of Bettiah, Motihari, Sitamarhi, Supaul, Araria and Kishanganj.
