Bihar Cabinet Approves Restoration of Clerk Positions and Land Sale Restrictions

The cabinet meeting was held on Wednesday (June 17, 2026) under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. In this meeting, a total of 29 agendas were approved. It was decided that the post of clerk in many departments will be restored soon. The formation of Regional General Clerical Cadre Manual 2026 in eight departments has been approved by the cabinet. Under this, it has been approved to start preparing the service condition and recruitment process for restoration in eight departments. After this, the recruitment notification will be issued. The departments in which the recruitment process will be started include Water Resources, Small Water Resources, Road Construction, Building Construction, Rural Works, Public Health Engineering, Planning and Development and Urban Development and Housing Department. There is a ban on land purchase and sale in satellite townships of Bihar. Meanwhile, the government has taken a big decision. The cabinet meeting has approved this big proposal in which the investors who have to sell or lease land in satellite townships can take the minimum age of 18 years to the Clerical Cadre.
