The Nitish Kumar government in Bihar has removed Lakhisarai DM Mithilesh Mishra from his post. The general administration department issued orders for his transfer on Tuesday. Mithilesh Mishra is currently directed to contribute to the general administration department in Patna. Mithilesh Mishra is a 2011-batch officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). Recently, a departmental inquiry was ordered against him for irregularities in the purchase of paddy in Lakhisarai district. Neeraj, ADM-cum-Additional Collector of Lakhisarai, has been given the additional charge of DM in place of Mithilesh Mishra. This arrangement will be in place until further orders. The sudden transfer of the DM has also triggered discussions in political circles. Mithilesh was the Lakhisarai district magistrate for the last one and a half years. He was posted here by the government in September 2024. IAS Mithilesh Mishra is said to have fallen after allegations of irregularities in the procurement of paddy.
