On the last day of the monsoon session of the Bihar legislature, a political debate raged over the presence of public representatives in the House. JDU's chief spokesperson and MLC Neeraj Kumar questioned the absence of BJP MLC Pawan Singh in the House. He said that in a democratic system, the House is the most important forum to raise the voice of the people and public representatives should regularly attend its proceedings. Neeraj Kumar said that the House is not just a place to earn salary and facilities. It is the responsibility of the public representatives to reach the House to raise issues related to the people and strengthen the democratic system. He said that it is also an important opportunity for new members to learn to participate in the proceedings of the House and understand the parliamentary rules. Neeraj Kumar said that the frequent absence of any elected representative cannot be justified. He hoped that Pawan Singh will continue to participate in the proceedings of the Legislative Council regularly and raise issues related to the people. Pawan Singh, a senior JDU MLC, also reached the Legislative Council on his last day.
