The Biotech Park has identified Agriculture Biotechnology, Healthcare Biotechnology, Nutraceuticals and Botanical Extracts, Process Biotechnology as priority areas where research and industry collaborations on micropropagation, biofertilizers, biopesticides, animal healthcare, drug discovery, medicinal and aromatic plant extracts, nutraceutical development, enzymes and other value-added biomolecules will be promoted. The Industrial Biotech Park already has a Bioconest Incubator, which is currently supporting 15 startups. CSIR-IIIM is running a job-oriented skill development programme for the youth, enhancing their employability, entrepreneurship skills and technical proficiency.
