BJP and JDS MLAs took out a march to Vidhana Soudha here on Friday, demanding the resignation of minister B Nagendra, who is facing allegations of embezzlement of crores of rupees in a state corporation. Opposition party MLAs also entered the assembly, where marshals prevented them from wearing black T-shirts, which is banned inside the house. Protesters agitated in front of the statue of Maharishi Valmiki, with leader of opposition R Ashok and BJP state president B Y Vijayendra leading the protest. BJP and JDS have been demanding Nagendra's resignation for several days and have earlier protested wearing black badges. The protesters shouted, Minister Nagendra should be removed. Marshals stopped BJP and JDS MLAs wearing black T-shirts at the entrance of the assembly. MLAs objected to being stopped by marshals. Ashok questioned Congress on its continued support to Nagendra. He said that it is proper for a person to give a befitting reply (Subudhendra) while Congress leaders claim that I should be present to save the entire assembly.
