A case has been registered against BJP candidate from Guruvayur assembly constituency in Kerala's Thrissur district B. Gopalakrishnan over a controversial statement. The case came to light because of an election video of him in which he allegedly said that a'Hindu MLA'has not been elected in Guruvayur for almost 50 years. The political controversy has intensified over his statement. The police registered the case on a complaint by the Advertising Returning Officer. He has been charged under Section 192 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 125 of the Representation of the People Act.
