BJP Considers Options for Government Formation in West Bengal After TMC Defeat

BJP govt formation options in West Bengal: After BJP's landslide victory and TMC's defeat, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has refused to resign. "The BJP used the Election Commission to win. Our fight was with the BJP, not with the Election Commission. I have not seen such an election in my life. The BJP used every possible tactic to defeat us. We did not lose the election, we have been defeated. There is no question of me resigning," Mamata Banerjee said at a press conference. So now if she does not resign, the BJP has two options to form the government. Whatever Mamata Banerjee's claim, if the chief minister does not resign from the governor after losing the election as per the rules, the next situation depends on the constitution and the majority in the assembly. There is a system in the country that by losing the election, the chief minister cannot resign immediately, but the government loses its majority. The number of seats the BJP has in West Bengal shows that the party has a majority.
