Former Rajya Sabha MP and senior advocate Majeed Memon made a big comment on the political situation in Bengal in the run-up to the assembly elections. He said that the political battle for the BJP in Kerala and West Bengal remains tough and the party's prospects in these two states are very limited. In an interview, he said that the Bharatiya Janata Party is yet to create widespread acceptance among the people in these two states. He claimed that no amount of publicity or manoeuvring will yield any results. Referring to West Bengal in particular, he said that the people here are still solidly behind Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress. He said, "The people of Bengal clearly have faith in the TMC. They have not accepted the BJP. It is not easy for the BJP to win votes in Bengal. Whoever is fielded as a candidate, whether as an outsider or a familiar face, the situation will not change much. In the end, he thinks that the results will reflect on the people. He also gave a similar picture in the case of Kerala. He claimed that the BJP has a very limited organisation there. He also expressed reservations about the recent ban on the formation of a government.
