Kolkata: As the election fever grips West Bengal, the political battle is now directly from the field to the Election Commission. The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday filed a complaint with the Election Commission against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee with serious allegations. The BJP has demanded that Mamata Banerjee be immediately banned from campaigning for violating the Model Code of Conduct and initiated legal action against her. Union Ministers Piyush Goyal, Kiren Rijiju, and Sukanta Majumdar, among others, have made serious allegations of intimidation. In their complaint, the BJP has alleged that Mamata Banerjee continues to make provocative statements at her public rallies. At a rally in Mainaguri on March 25, the BJP threatened that "citizens will have to put up'I do not support BJP'posters outside their homes after the polls are over." In addition, Banerjee has also claimed that the Election Commission is inciting violence by asking women to "come out with whatever you have."
