Kolkata: Legislative party leader Suvendu Adhikari has taken oath as the Chief Minister of West Bengal. After Suvendu Adhikari, 5 other BJP leaders took oath as ministers. Nishith Pramanik, Agnimitra Paul, Ashok Kirtania, Khudiram Tudu and Dilip Ghosh were sworn in by the Governor. Dilip Ghosh won the election from Kharagpur Sadar in Paschim Medinipur. He defeated 7-time MLA Gyan Singh Sohanpal. He strengthened the organization to the grassroots level. He has a strong hold in Jangalmahal and North Bengal. He has also been the president of Bengal BJP. Dilip Ghosh was a long-time RSS pracharak before joining BJP. He started as a pracharak in 1984. He then served as the in-charge of Andaman and Nicobar Islands from 1999 to 2007. During this time he was an assistant to former RSS national chief K Sudarshan S. In 2014, he joined the BJP and was re-appointed as the general secretary of the Bengal unit. Ghosh was re-appointed as the state firebrand BJP leader.
