LOCATION Solapur district lies in southern Maharashtra and is largely drained by the Bhima, Nira, Sina, and Man river systems. It extends between 17°10′N–18°32′N latitudes and 74°42′E–76°15′E longitudes. The district is bounded by Ahmadnagar to the north, Dharashiv to the northeast, Karnataka to the southeast, Sangli to the southwest, Satara to the west, and Pune to the northwest.
