The political temperature of the city has reached its peak ahead of the selection of important posts like Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Standing Committee Chairman of Vadodara Municipal Corporation. Senior MLA from Manjalpur Yogesh Patel's statements during the SENS process held at'Namo Kamalam'in the presence of BJP's state observers have brought to the surface the internal rift in the party. Without naming anyone, MLA from Manjalpur Yogesh Patel lodged a strong protest against the'imported candidate'saying, "Keep the boy at home when he is not walking." He gave a clear indication by this comment that the candidate who does not have a connection at the local level or who has not done groundwork in the party organization should not be assigned important posts under any circumstances. With this statement, he has sided with the loyalty of the party and the importance of the local MLA of the grassroots level. Yogesh Patel expressed his resentment not only against the new potential candidates but also against the past administration. He said that the Mayor of Vadodara, who had gone to the Mayor's office, should not fail to meet the CENS of the city.
