BJP Releases Candidate List for Bihar MLC Elections

The BJP released its list of candidates for the MLC elections in Bihar. The most popular name in this list is Bhojpuri superstar Pawan Singh. Along with this, the party has announced the candidature of Sanjay Mayukh, Anil Kumar Thakur and Sheela Pandit. Pawan Singh's name was in the news during the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and Assembly elections but now the party has given him a ticket for the Legislative Council. Sanjay Mayukh has got a chance again. He is still a member of the Bihar Legislative Council. Biennial elections for nine seats of the Legislative Council in Bihar will be held on 18 June. The NDA has about 202 MLAs in the 243-member Assembly. As per the current equations, the support of about 25 MLAs is considered enough to win one seat. In such a situation, the path of 8 seats for the NDA is almost clear.
