BJP Releases Second List for West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026: Major Changes and New Faces

Kolkata: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has shocked the opposition by releasing its second list for the West Bengal Assembly elections 2026. The most talked about in the list is Bishnupur, where the BJP has made a major last-minute change. The party has now given a ticket to Biswajit Khan, cutting out Agnishwar Naskar from the list announced earlier. Local equations and winnability are being considered as the main reasons behind this change. After 144 candidates in the first list, now 111 more candidates have been announced. The BJP has made a strong fortification in the strongholds of Bengal. The party has made a wonderful combination of glamour and experience in this second list. The BJP has tried to attract women voters by fielding well-known actress Ganguly from Sonarpur Dakshin, while making Jung high-profile by giving tickets to fighting faces like Netanisith Pramanik from Mathabhanga and Kaustav Bagchi from Barrackpore. In addition, it seems that the character of Chandelkhali has made the Congress ready to take over the throne in West Bengal in the second phase.
