BJP Replaces Candidate in Bihar By-Election Amid Fodder Scam Concerns

The by-election is being held in the Bankipur assembly seat in Bihar. The BJP had to change its candidate here. BJP candidate Abhishek Kumar withdrew from the fray a few hours after the nomination and was replaced by Neeraj Kumar Sinha. The reason is said to be that Abhishek Kumar had given incomplete information in the election affidavit. There was a fear of cancellation of his nomination, but the real inside story is something else. The Bankipur seat has been the seat of BJP president Nitin Navin. This time Prashant Kishor, the founder of Jansuraj, is contesting from here. So the BJP is in no mood to take any chances. His father Ravindra Prasad, to whom the BJP had given a ticket, was found guilty in the fodder scam. One of the 75 people convicted in the fodder scam, including Lalu, was Abhishek's father Ravindra Prasad. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison and a fine of 50 thousand. Ravindra Prasad and his wife Ravindra Prasad were also convicted in the Sahebganj treasury case. Ravindra Prasad was found guilty of embezzlement of money.
