Rajkot, June 6: The term of 26 Rajya Sabha seats in the country, including 4 in Gujarat, is ending next month. Elections will be announced in a month to elect new members. Four members are elected from Gujarat. There are clear circumstances for BJP candidates to be elected unopposed on all four seats. BJP members of Rajya Sabha from Gujarat, Narhari Amin, Rambhai Mokariya, Ramilaben Bara and Shaktisinh Gohil of Congress are retiring. Their terms are till June 21. BJP is unlikely to repeat any of these three members. For the first time since the formation of Gujarat, there will be no representation of Congress in Rajya Sabha from the state. Congress has only 12 MLAs in the current assembly. Congress is not even able to field candidates in Rajya Sabha elections. All four members will be elected by BJP. There are a total of 11 seats in Rajya Sabha from Gujarat. Union Ministers J P Nadda and S Jaishankar are representing Gujarat. Since there are two outsiders in Rajya Sabha from Gujarat, there is very little scope for BJP to make new choices in Gujarat.
