BJP Slams Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi Over Sacking of State Forest Minister

The BJP on Friday hit out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying that erasing the future prospects of women is the real thinking of the Congress leader and his party's governments. BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj said that for Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, the slogan of ending patriarchy is just empty words and political rhetoric. This statement comes a day after Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy sacked state forest minister Konda Surekha from the cabinet with immediate effect. The action comes after a controversy erupted over some remarks made by Surekha's daughter against the chief minister and others. Surekha claimed that she had done nothing wrong. She accused Chief Minister Reddy of practising'politics of blackmail '. Reacting to this development, Bansuri said that just yesterday in Telangana, we saw how Rahul Gandhi's Congress party and the state government humiliated and removed one of their own senior leaders from the cabinet. She said that Surekha and the Telangana chief minister wanted to silence her father for some serious allegations against the chief minister and others.
