BJP Struggles to Form Uttar Pradesh Unit Ahead of State Elections

Elections to the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly are now not far away, but despite several marathon meetings in Delhi with the national leadership, the BJP has not been able to form its state unit. The list of the BJP Uttar Pradesh unit is stuck between the likes and dislikes of veterans. There is much tussle over two chief ministers and four vice-presidents, while new faces have replaced all six regional presidents. The names of workers of two to three castes have been listed for each post in Delhi, from where the team will be announced once the green signal is received. There is talk that the composition of the organization will revolve around the axis of Kashi. The choice of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister will be taken care of. The state unit will also try to avoid controversy and the resentment of the workers. In December last year, Maharajganj MP and Union Minister Pankaj Chaudhary was made the state president as a Kurmi face. This was called the BJP's big bet as a cut of the SP's PDA factor. Despite the passage of six months, the number of new office bearers of the organization has been reduced to two in eight months.
