BJP Suffers Setback in Bankipur By-Election After Candidate Withdraws Nomination

The BJP has suffered a major setback in the Bankipur by-election. BJP candidate Abhishek Kumar Bunty has withdrawn his nomination. BJP candidate for Bankipur assembly by-election Abhishek Kumar Sinha says,... "due to family reasons, I am not able to contest the assembly by-election. I will continue to serve as a party worker loyally. I have just handed over a letter to state president Sanjay Saraogi, which I am now reading out to you. The Bharatiya Janata Party had selected me as the NDA candidate for the by-election in Bankipur assembly constituency. For this, I express my gratitude to the central and state leadership. I humbly inform you that due to family reasons, I am not able to contest the assembly by-election. I will continue to serve as a party worker loyally." For the by-election to Bankipur assembly seat in Patna, the BJP had announced Abhishek Kumar'Bunty'as its candidate for Bankipur assembly by-election. The party has considered the nomination of former and current BJP national president Nitin Kumar as an interesting bet.
