BJP Sweeps Local Body Elections in Gujarat, Opposition Loses Ground

New Delhi: The results of the local body elections in Gujarat are out and the BJP's roller has turned as expected. The BJP has swept all the 15 municipal corporations of the state while the BJP has won most of the 84 municipalities. The BJP has also captured all the 34 district panchayats while the BJP has captured more than 250 out of the 260 taluka panchayats. The BJP has also won all the 13 seats in the by-elections of 11 municipalities. The BJP has won two-thirds majority in most of the local bodies where it has won and the opposition has been wiped out. The victory of the BJP in Gujarat has already been written on paper, so there was no doubt and no discussion, but everyone was interested in knowing what happens to the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party. These results are very disappointing for both the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party.
