BJP to Begin Rule in West Bengal at Historic Brigade Parade Ground

The Brigade Parade Ground, in the heart of Kolkata, is the largest open-air stadium in eastern India. Built in the 19th century by the British East India Company for military exercises, it has seen many historic meetings of the freedom struggle. After a historic victory with a thumping majority in the assembly elections, the grand swearing-in ceremony of the new leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party's legislature party and the state's first BJP chief minister is now going to be held at Kolkata's famous Brigade Parade Ground. According to political experts, this is the same historic parade ground from where decades ago Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee blew the trumpet against the Left rule. The wheel has turned and the BJP is going to formally begin its rule on Rabindra Jayanti tomorrow on the same ground.
