BJP Wins Deputy Mayor Election in Jaipur: Saroj Kanwar Defeats Congress Candidate

The election for the Deputy Mayor of Jaipur was held on Saturday (September 26). After the Mayor, the Deputy Mayor's seat has also gone to the BJP. Saroj Kanwar of the BJP has won the Deputy Mayor's post. Saroj Kanwar has defeated the Congress candidate by a large margin. Saroj Kanwar has won by defeating Congress candidate Salman Mansuri by 31 votes. Saroj Kumar of the BJP got 89 votes. While Congress candidate Salman Mansuri got only 58 votes. A Congress councilor did not even come to vote. Meanwhile, Asaduddin Owaisi's party AIMIM rejected both the BJP and the Congress in the Deputy Mayor's election. Councillor Firoza Bano of Owaisi's party voted for NOTA in the Deputy Mayor's election as well. A vote has also been rejected. Workers celebrated after the victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). However, after Saroj Kanwar's name was announced in the morning, some BJP councilors were angry that Saroj Kanwar could not receive the newly elected Mayor's certificate on Friday (September 25).
