The Bharatiya Janata Party has registered a landslide victory in the municipal elections of Himachal Pradesh, winning three out of four municipal corporations. After the election results, state BJP president Rajeev Bindal claimed that the public support in the municipal corporation, municipal body, and panchayat elections has made it clear that the people of the state are dissatisfied with the policies of the Congress government. He said that these results are a referendum against the Congress government and are also clearing the picture for the 2027 assembly elections. In a press conference held in Shimla, Rajeev Bindal said that the BJP has won a landslide victory in the Mandi, Dharamshala, and Solan municipal corporations. 12 out of 14 seats in Mandi Municipal Corporation, 11 out of 17 seats in Dharamshala, and 10 out of 17 seats in Solan Panchayats were won by BJP-supported candidates. In Palampur Municipal Corporation, the Congress got the lead, but the BJP has performed better than last time. Bindal said that the success in three out of four municipal corporations is an indication of the changing political atmosphere in the state.
