BRICS Criticizes US Trade Policies, Condemns Terrorist Attack in Jammu and Kashmir

At the same time, the unilateral trade policies, tariffs and economic sanctions of the current US President Donald Trump have been deeply resented. The BRICS grouping also made it clear that the old global institutions like the UN Security Council, the IMF and the World Bank must now be reformed so that the developing countries of the Global South can have their due and fair representation. The Declaration issued in the communiqué strongly condemned the dastardly terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April 2025, in which 26 innocent people were killed and many others seriously injured. The BRICS countries appealed to the entire world to adopt a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism and reject any double standards in this regard immediately. The member countries categorically stated that terrorism has no link to any religion, nationality or community, and that the movement of terrorists across borders, the financing of terrorism and their safe havens must be dismantled immediately. The BRICS declaration called for the implementation of the Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism (CCIT) without any further delay.
