BRICS Summit 2026: India Emphasizes Sovereignty with De-Dollarization and Cross-Border Payment System

India is hosting the BRICS Summit 2026 on September 12 and 13. Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in New Delhi for this. More dignitaries have joined him. Meanwhile, India's important response has come out. India has talked about de-dollarization and the BRICS payment system. BRICS International Chairman Pavan Joshi said, "Under BRICS, we have our own BRICS payment system. This cross-border payment system, which we are working on, will actually act as a bridge between all the systems that are already in place in different countries." He said, "The main focus here is on sovereignty. Our country is a great country and under a great leadership. Our vision is to bring our country into a fully sovereign system. This alliance is on this aspect and we are working on this system. We are not claiming to change anything." Pavan Joshi said, "There is a misunderstanding about de-dollarization. We want to facilitate transactions with our business partners and citizens around the world."
