BRICS Summit Adopts New Delhi Declaration in Support of Two-State Solution to Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

At the BRICS Summit hosted by India, the New Delhi Declaration was unanimously adopted. The BRICS countries reiterated their support for a two-state solution for a lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. While calling for greater institutional support for Palestine internationally and emphasizing Israel's responsibilities under international law. The Declaration said, "We reiterate that a just and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict can only be achieved through peaceful means. This solution depends on the realization of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the right to determine their own future and the right to return to their homes." The BRICS countries called on international organizations to give Palestine adequate representation and help build on their resources. The BRICS reiterated their support for a full membership of Palestine in the United Nations. The BRICS called for a two-state solution, international law, recognition of Israel's obligations under the United Nations Security Council's 1967 Sovereignty Resolution and an international commitment to the UN General Assembly's Security Council Resolution.
