BSP Supremo Mayawati Expels Nephew Akash Anand from Party Over Attitude Concerns

BSP supremo Mayawati has expelled her nephew Akash Anand from the party. This decision came just a week after she removed him from the post of National Coordinator. In fact, on 3 September 2026, Mayawati relieved Akash from the post of National Coordinator and replaced him with Akash's father Anand Kumar and Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Gautam as the new National Coordinator. The reason behind this she told Akash Anand's father-in-law Ashok Siddharth. Mayawati said that if Akash wants responsibility in the party again, Ashok Siddharth will have to retire from politics. Ashok Siddharth also announced his retirement from politics. Despite this, Mayawati was not satisfied with Akash's attitude, and expelled him from the party. People's interest in the Bahujan Samaj Party has also increased in Akash Anand's education and career before entering politics. Akash Anand is the son of Mayawati's younger brother Anand Kumar and was born in Noida. He completed his schooling in Noida. He returned to India after completing his MBA from the World School of Management in 2015.
