China Accused of Deleting Evidence of Devastating Tibet Floods from Social Media

The devastating floods and landslides that occurred after a glacier broke suddenly on August 26 in Tibet have caused massive loss of life and property. But amid this massive disaster, a new and serious international controversy arose when reports emerged that China is constantly deleting the actual photos and videos of this destruction from its social media platforms. The attitude of the Chinese government during this disaster has attracted the attention of the whole world. According to The Times of Israel report, within a few hours of the flood, videos of the devastation recorded by local citizens began to circulate on Chinese social media platforms. Security footage of Gyirong Port clearly showed a huge wall of mud and debris falling on buildings and people running for their lives. Later this location and footage were also confirmed by the international media. But very soon the Chinese authorities started deleting these videos. A Bhutanese journalist questioned this, saying that these were not removed or the videos of a purely political protest of the Chinese government on social media.
