Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) co-convener Saurav Das, in his first video after being released from Tihar Jail , slammed the ruling party for arresting him and Ashutosh Ranka and alleging that the organisation had foreign backing. In the video posted on Instagram, Das thanked supporters for their well-wishes and prayers during his time in prison. He said people’s “sheer goodwill” is what will keep CJP going in “the fight.” Das said that by arresting him and CJP leader Ashutosh Ranka , the BJP “exposed themselves” for being the real “anti-nationals.” “It is worth pondering: a political party that, across the entire nation, with great fanfare and boisterous proclamations asserts its own brand of nationalism while labelling others ‘anti-national’ or ‘dissenter’ is the very same that can send two unarmed youth to a notorious prison like Tihar,” he said. “There can be no bigger expose than this, as from their own ideology they exposed themselves,” he said. He also addressed the “baseless” allegations against him and the organisation, stating that it was “shameful” that a Union Minister like Jitendra Singh could claim CJP was being funded by foreign sources. Earlier on Thursday, Jitendra Singh accused Abhijeet Dipke and Ranka of receiving financial support from US donors and Pakistani nationals. He said the foreign-funded actors and anti-India “deep state” operatives were working to create a narrative against the country. “You have heard so many allegations regarding funding and personal attacks—and the remarks made by senior leader Jitendra Singh, out of the blue and with the sole intent of maligning the youth movement, are truly shameful,” Das said. He said such tactics can no longer work on the youth as they have “awakened and are well aware of what is happening in the country.” Das said politics in India ignores real problems in the country and only focuses on “personal allegations, Hindu-Muslim rhetoric, and bringing up Pakistan.” “This approach will not move the country forward, which is precisely why the government is in a state of panic,” he said. The CJP leader urged everyone to keep fighting for their problems and speak up. “If you keep returning and continue to make your voice heard, we will prevail.” “We will work together and never take a step back. That is my promise,” he added.
