Coal Minister to Review Coal India's Performance and Progress in Kolkata

With the enhanced monitoring of Coal India's functioning by the Prime Minister's Office, Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy will now hold a two-day review meeting on 28th and 29th September at Coal India Limited Headquarters, Kolkata. The meeting will review the performance of the companies including coal production and dispatch, progress of new projects, Jharia Master Plan, coal gasification. During this time, the working of the officials and progress of the plans is also likely to be discussed. Coal Secretary Vikram Dutt is also likely to attend the meeting. Coal India Chairman B Sairam along with CMDs of all the subsidiary companies will also be present. Earlier, Advisor to the Prime Minister Tarun Kapoor held a meeting with the officials at Coal India's Corporate Office in Kolkata on Friday after the BCCL visit. The meeting discussed the company's production and supply of coal, especially in view of the country's energy needs, progress of coal gasification projects and the company's diversification plans.
