Cockreach Janata Party Convenes Meeting to Review Government Assurances

The Cockreach Janata Party (CJP) will convene its national working committee meeting on Monday (24). It will review the status of the assurances made by the central government after the withdrawal of the nationwide agitation on 25 July. The CJP said that the government has not yet formally informed about the steps being taken to fulfill the assurances. The CJP said that all steps will be considered to fulfill the assurances. This includes the possibility of launching a peaceful nationwide agitation once again. It said that it had withdrawn its agitation in good faith on the basis of the promise made by the government to the youth of the country. The organization said that it will not allow this good faith to be considered as weakness. The CJP has also asked the students, young citizens, its supporters and volunteers to be prepared for the outcome of Monday's meeting. These announcements were made a few days after the Supreme Court hearing on 18 August. The Supreme Court and the CJP had asked the Centre to register three FIRs against the protesters under Article 142 of the Constitution.
